Whew. December felt like two months jammed into one. Mostly good, just freakin' busy. Here's the rundown on the holiday:
Since Schiavona and my sister couldn't take off work, I took this past week off (also had to burn some vacation time--I am NOT about to lose vacation time just because work can't seem to leave me alone). Had a bunch of stuff going on last weekend with [TheFox] and Little Fierce One's wedding. It was beautiful and I am very hopeful that they'll have a wonderful life together. Since the parents showed up on Sunday, I let my sister deal with them while I was at the wedding. Then we celebrated my Dad's b-day on Monday (which involved a great deal of cooking). Their dog got really, really sick and had to go to the emergency vet at 3am on Monday morning, so that was worrying. He got better, though and was back to his usual self in no time. I don't even remember what happened Tuesday and Wednesday involved a *ton* of cooking and a bunch of wrapping presents. We went over to a friend's house for Xmas eve and then did family Xmas on Thursday morning. Then, MORE cooking and we had a bunch of people over for a formal Xmas dinner that was almost as much stuff as T-giving. You would not believe how much food I have in my fridge right now. . .
Boxing day was spent hitting the post-Xmas sales and dealing w/minor crises and then going out to dinner because I refused to cook and everybody seemed to not want leftovers. I got tons of fabulous presents and Schiavona got me an AMAZING tile cutter--like professional grade. And some sexy underwear. I've done my usual post-Christmas crash and burn and done abso-freakin'-lutely nothing today. Sleep, eat, read, and play a computer game. Maybe I'll go eat some more. . .
I want to wish all of you a Happy New Year--I hope that it is a good year for everybody. (I'll work on those resolutions.)
