DENISE! I can't believe your name is Denise. you have a very exotic look and I totally expected you to have an unusual name!?! Not that Denise is a bad name.

Anyway, I wrote a long respnse to yourentry about having children and settleing down, sufice to say be careful about your motives and the timing. Lots of people have children for selfish reason, without thinking things through. Your life really starts over.

P.S.
Cool crafts, DENISE! My wife is into the same kind of thing.

there's so much pressure every time i hit the update button. damn.

two people that i think are neat are getting married. that's good stuff. i think that if i don't end up getting re-married, i'll be ok with it. i just want at some point to have a baby. the thought of it is super scary, but i think it's one of those things...

the last 2 weeks have been a bit overwhelming.
i had practically every family member in town.
i went to florida to visit my grandparents.
my boy has been working out of town for the last three weeks and hopefully will be back home in one more week.
i need to feel normal again.
i hate sleeping in an empty bed.

i told one of my best friends about this business idea that i've had for years. she loves the idea and we always used to fantasize about opening up this business together. well, she just got financial backing and wants to use my idea. the problem is that she wants to move to texas and open the business there (which i'm not so into).
she...

I derno. I always think it's a good idea to get business things in writing, because it simply just helps to avoid future drama. I have a client/writer who wanted to collaborate with a friend on verbal agreement, and I absolutely begged and begged and begged for them to sign something. It seems icky up front, but you never know what will happen down the road. As for exactly what kind of compensation or what kind of deal you have with the friend...well....perhaps that's something for a lawyer or experienced business person could help you with.

I keep refusing re: the red lipstick, too!!! I have a horrid lipstick drawer full of neglected reds! And you bet I'll keep buying them!
americanzero:
You are entitled to compensation based on intellectual property laws that are currently in existance. The compansation should be based on a percetage of what the business grosses, because if you simply get a fee up front and the business takes off, you are basically getting screwed. I can give the name and number of an attorney the works for an intellectual property law firm downtown.

Okay, cool - you're in. The SGNC folks are some of the best, we'll take care of ya. biggrin

If you think NoMeansNo is a rare thing being in CA, just move out here... no one has heard of them. frown They played a club I ran in Santa Barbara around '95 and Rob said that people on the East Coast just don't get them. I think the furthest East they come is Chicago at this point. Major bummer - they rule.

And why the hell not, with all the hotness we have to offer the world? miao!!

I got Satellite Radio and there are tons of crazy things on all the time. One day this song started and it took a while for it to register. The title is Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo (letter call signs) and each verse was an endless tiraid of clever metaphores for intercourse. I couldn't stop laughing!!!

Thanks for the nice note about my cupcake smile.

I feel the same about my job. It's very very very safe, though, I'm really not feeling the love for it right now. I think I need to work with computer nerds instead of artists who think they are the second coming.

i had to fill out an IDP (individual development plan) at work. it basically has you list your goals (personal and professional) and steps you can take to acheive those goals. seemed very corporate which of course made me bitter. whatever. i had to fill it out anyway. what i came up with was the fact that my goals (personal and professional) have absolutely nothing...

I would be sitting in a little Absinth bar in Berlin searching for the green fairy. Stacks of maps on my table plotting my next journey to another far away land, like Paris. I would make sure to end up in Scandinavia in spring to see the most beautiful women on the planet emerge from a long winter. Then i would return south to Italy and Spain to finish out the summer staring at olive skin goddesses.
