today i had jury duty. i got myself to the courthouse downtown at the un-godly hour of 7am. sat for about 3 hours trying not to fall asleep because the guy across from me had fallen asleep and was snoring. i'm too self-concious to sleep in public. anyhoo. they called my name and told me that i'd been transferred to the east la courthouse. grrr. so i then had to find my way there (please note that i do not travel on the freeway so i had to take side streets which increased my drive time by at least 3 times).
so i get there and i get called for the jury and the judge tells me that i have to come back next week for a trial and that it might last 3-4 days. double grrr.
i guess i feel good about performing my civic duty and all, but you'd think that they'd make it a bit easier for people.
i think i'm going out tonight. my friend's friend's band is playing tonight at tangier.

What was your case about? The one time I was called, the case was about carpet cleaning... I could barely keep my eyes open... the other jurors were taking notes... I don't know how they managed...
