I've been having the weirdest dreams the past couple of weeks. I was smoking again for the 2 weeks surrounding my thesis defense purely for sanity's sake, with the promise to myself that I would quit as soon as it was over. Since the nicotine patches worked for me so well before, I got a box of the low-powered variety to make sure I didn't...

It has been a VERY tense evening, offset by a high amount of inebriation.

I've been sitting at the cafe/bar since 3 in the afternoon, trying to figure out how to write a Winamp plug-in that would actually shuffle music properly. Turns out that it's not as straightforward as it should be. Somewhat dejected, I switch from coffee to gin & tonic.

Somewhere down the...

I'm with you...have to die? Be around friends drunk...But alas you aren't set to leave yet, much for you to do young apprentice, so you stay clear of the tornado...toto.

As for Catie, she left an explanation on my journal for her absence, take a look, it's only like a few journals back, I believe. I sure miss her words on here... frown

And, thank you thank you thank you for your wonderful compliments. Is it strange that I have no problem recounting my sexual adventures, but the poem left me feeling vulnerable and unsure? It's like showing someone your soul, and your words were very reassuring, thank you.

It's good to see you back...what's new? Have you moved? What's the plan now that school is done? We need to know this stuff, how on earth can we properly stalk you if we don't? kiss

Crezzy, man.

Drunk and sleepless all week long, leading up to graduation Friday night. Followed closely by some more drinks, a late night, and a 5AM wakeup call to drive back to Omaha for my little sister's graduation. No sleep, no sleep. Sanity slipping away... away...

Slept most of the weekend... revival!

Caught the Chapelle Show marathon at my parents' house (since I don't have...

Had a rockstar time in Chicago this weekend. Here's the short and sweet:

- WLUW Record Fair... snagged a Frank Kozik print and a PJ Harvey live bootleg.

- Saw Jonathan Ames at the Bailiwick Theatre... heard some fantastically perverted stories and got a free lesson on fencing.

- Got these words from some hipster chick who apparently thought I was a candidate...

Okay, I've been offline for almost a week now... since Friday, I've been unable to be anything but drunk or asleep - and totally incapable of typing. So here it is:

I AM FUCKING DONE WITH FUCKING COLLEGE!

Everything went well, and now I can get back to real life. To kick off my newfound freedom, I'm going to turn my kitchen into a screenprinting...

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

There are few problems in life that can't be solved with a drill press.

It's getting late, and my thesis defense is tomorrow morning. I've got a bunch of copies of my thesis, with too many pages to staple. 3-ring binders are the solution. But you need to put holes in the paper, and I have...

"A man with any character at all must have enemies and places he is not welcome. In the end we are not only defined by our friends, but also those aligned against us."

- Modern Drunkard Magazine

This really struck a chord with me. It takes too much energy to try to be friends (or at least on neutral ground) with everyone. Better to put...

If you figure out how to do this without the inevitable guilt that follows from hurting someone, you let me know. Right now I'll pay for the answer.

Simple pleasures can be so sweet on a Sunday afternoon...

A fierce cup of coffee.

Walking around breathing in the crisp air.

Vibrant green all around that wasn't there a week ago.

Standing in the shower until you're dizzy from the steam.

A bit of good conversation.

Taking a nap just because you can.

I had plenty of that sweet breath of christ, don't you worry! biggrin After an entire day with my family I definitely needed it.

Sounds like you had a much nicer, more restful day than me.

How WONDERFUL things are going so well with your lady. I'm so happy for you. It warms my heart when a nice guy gets such a great gift. You are much deserving of much happiness. AND, you tell her, that I SAID...if she hurts YOU, I'LL kick her ass. *giggle* How's that? Enjoy spring, we've earned it. kiss

Dawn of the Dead was TITS.

Nothing like a good zombie flick to celebrate your own resurrection.

Some might argue that the Passion would be a more appropriate choice, but the last time I checked, the validity of Jesus' resurrection was still hotly debated, while the general consesus holds that zombies indeed walk among us. You need venture no further than the nearest industrial...

I'm sorry. The party you are trying to reach is not available.

This paper has me by the balls.

I'll see all you beautiful people later this weekend. Big hugs out to everyone, with reacharounds for the gents and copious groping for the ladies. wink

Am I so tired because there's too much to do, or is there too much to do because I'm too tired to do any of it?

Blah.

hi! my play is about this grafiti artist girl in new york. but that's just the setting, i guess. these weird guys come to her and tell her she's going to die and it gets strange. it's kinda hard to explain.

how's the thesis?

glad to hear you're all happy with the new gf!

It didn't seem all that long ago that dating someone was tough. You had all these ups and downs and it was a big rollercoaster soap opera drama miniseries - worthy of an Emmy nomination.

This time around it seems too easy. We dig on the same stuff and her friends are great. Highly compatible music tastes. Similar vices. Complementary social agendas. Oh, it's all...

Thanks, I needed that smile.

I just had the most heinous encounter... the guy who is in charge of my funding happened to be leaving the anthro building at the same time as I was. He asked if I was going to go to the bar with him and my classmates. I said no. He asked if I had been to my community service lately. I said no. He walked away. My money is contingent on my community service.
Shitshitshit. Why can't I lie?

Now to clean up this fuck up.
josephene:
Uggghhh...I can relate, my friend. It seems that we are often defined by labels, and it's easier for those around us to recognize our lives if they can put us into categories. Give them credit for having interest in your life...=)

If things burn too hot, they are likely to fizzle out, but too easy? Enjoy it! It doesn't come along very often...keep your eyes open and you'll be fine. Enjoy your happiness, it's nice to see you smiling! biggrin
