The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (in Spanish, Shepherd of the Sea Conservation Society) is an international non-profit environmental organization (NGO) for the conservation of marine fauna, whose mission is to end habitat destruction and the slaughter of fauna in the world's oceans in order to protect and conserve the ecosystem and species. Their campaigns are governed by the United Nations World Charter for Nature (1982) and other laws that protect marine species and their environments.

The company was founded in 1977 by Paul Watson, one of the first members of Greenpeace, after a dispute with the organization about how to act in whaling. Greenpeace avoids interfering with whaling, seeking to create awareness through the capture of graphic testimonies. In contrast, Sea Shepherd is dedicated to direct action, which involves interfering with the operations of whaling ships.
