I am considering a move back to Atlanta, my hometown. I've been offered a job at Emory University and might accept. When I moved from Atlanta, over 10 years ago, I swore I would never go back. Not that there is anything wrong with Atlanta. I love it there. But I have always had a strong need to "see the world" and going back to my hometown to live always seemed to be a step backwards. Unfortunately, my family and closest friends are still there and I don't get to see them nearly enough. I miss going to see the Braves. I miss the drive to Athens, GA to watch the Georgia Bulldogs play football. And Texas, to be quite honest, is a strange place to live. Texans really see themselves as being separate and apart from the rest of the country. That isn't a criticism, just an observation.
I'll be 40 in April and something is pulling me back to Georgia. I don't know what the pull is but I think I need to figure that part out before I make a decision.
What to do, what to do...

There just is no place like home. I mean that seriously.
