Tonight when I got back into work, there was a package waiting for me. Something from one of our listeners. They are good like that, for sure. I'm very spoiled when it comes to them. They take good care of me.
Inside was a totally adorable NASCAR Kleenex dispenser. I know, go ahead and make fun of me, but I love it! When I pulled it out, I found a note inside wrapped around a check.
Dear 'Josie',
I made this for you because I love listening to you talk about your "boys of NASCAR" and get so much enjoyment out of you and Ted in the morning. Please give this check to the girl with cancer you were talking about this morning. I wish it was more, you're right, we need to take care of our own. Please don't say anything on the air about this, like you said, helping is it's own reward.
Inside was a check for $100, and I just cried. If you don't know the girl I'm talking about, it's on my previous journal. I love that this is inside of people, this spirit of giving and to be a witness to it, I'm so lucky. I have a renewed sense of spirit now...
GingerGayle and I will be baking over the next 2 days in prep for the bake-sale we're having. I love to bake, so it's no biggie on my part. How much are "special brownies" going for these days?
Got such an amazing picture today from Catiedid. She somehow guessed that I LOVE fairies and sent me a fabulous picture. I need to name her and find her a home on one of my walls. I love that I will have something hanging up that will be a constant reminder of her constant presence in my life. Of course, aside from the "Blah-Blah-Blah" cup...
Jerry has finally arrived to his destination in Alaska. It so nice to have him in one place and not worry about him driving in this bullshit weather that seems to be EVERYWHERE these days.
Heard from supernovice today and forgot how much fun it is to laugh with that boy. His neglect on SG is inexcusable..
