BLOG HOMEWORK - #WhatAdviceWouldYouGiveYourTeenageSelf?
@rambo @missy
If I could see myself in the past, I would definitely slap me
on the face.
When I was a teenage girl, I was a really arrogant
person. I thought I knew
everything. I was superb, capricious and very stubborn.
I think the worst flaw of all was my idea of fitting
with the traditional standards expected by society. I took care that my tattoos
weren’t seen, I was very concerned about how people saw me dressed and what
they would say about me if I did this or that, I even obeyed my ex's orders.
Today, I am not near or by chance to be that teenager
that I once was. And I'm proud of not being.
I was able to become mentally independent of my parents
and of the judgmental gaze of society. I fight for legal abortion, safe and
free in my country. I march in favor of the women’s rights and I dedicate
myself to read a lot about history and sociology to grow mentally day by day.
Until a few years ago, I could not even tolerate the idea
of seeing a woman as a couple, as a sister, I saw them as competition and I
couldn’t be more wrong!
I am proud of what I am today, and I’m more proud to work
minute by minute informing myself and studying to grow as a person. I'm ashamed
of the person who I was, but the times changes you.
What advice would I give my teenageself?
Be patient, listen to others, respect, read, inform yourself and above all things, think before you speak.
