Don't be fooled, girls.

McCain is no idiot. He saw an opportunity. He saw how divisive democratic support was for the two leading candidates. He sees an opportunity to potentially gain the support of tens of thousands of disgruntled women.

It was a brilliant choice, in my humble opinion.

I hope most women are not foolish enough to jump on the female VP bandwagon simply...

Going camping tomorrow.

Not "real" camping, exactly. It'll be in a tent and with a sleeping bag and all that... but it's in a campground. Not the kind of camping I'm used to -- hike to your camp site with just what you can carry.

Still, this way allows me to bring a case of cold Sam Adams in a cooler.

It's actually a new album that has taken on significance due to life's twists and turns.

I hear what you mean about tastes changing with age though. I can't tell you how many times I've put on music or a movie that I loved 10 years ago which I now find boring or just plain bad, and the stuff I'm into now would never pass muster with the 90's version of me.

hahaha that's awesome, what's your favorite flavor? I'm a big fan of mixing lemon and watermelon

I am thoroughly addicted to Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. It's almost a shame that I don't have an iPod. Can't wait for the DVD.
pandara:
It really is horrible you know.

Two days at the new job so far, and I'm feeling confident in my decision. I'm still just riding along with the current drivers -- getting an idea on how the job is done. But what I've seen so far looks like a piece of cake compared to what I've been doing both for Frito-Lay over the last few weeks and my over-the-road work for...

My boyfriend has a TomTom, they're the greatest thing ever. He has Mr. T giving him directions, it's hilarious.

I don't really get that thing where people flip off the camera. Really, I'm pretty boggled by that. I see it everywhere. I don't think that's how I'd like to be captured on film. I guess I'm a snob.

I start the new job on Monday. For the love of that non-existent divine being, I hope I like this one better.

Sometimes I feel like...

I went out with some girl friends last night and we had fondu, some fancy fancy dessert crape and a pitcher of mojitoria's. OK and we were at a fairly fancy resteraunt. They thought it was pretty funny that we ordered a pitcher of mixed drinks. So we over did it a bit as well. biggrin

A well behaved marine. Once a marine always a marine.
You are like the straightest person I have met on here. It's cool.
You see my encounters with the druggies are not by choice but by default these days.
Friend gets pregnant, I am midwife them, partner is a junkie. If not for those chain of things I would avoid it like the plague and I DO. As you saw my upbringing. It totally freaks me out.

My cat is confused. She woke me up at 6:30 for food. Now she can't figure out what she wants. She is scratching on the blinds, so I try to let her out but she doesn't want out. Just walking around Meowing. It's making me a bit crazy.

You have a mini bar??

After working Friday morning I resigned from Frito-Lay. There wasn't any one thing in particular that I found impossible to deal with. It was the cumulative impact that several factors were having on me. The constantly fluctuating hours, the backbreaking (and in my opinion injury subjective) work, the extra work constantly being created by the shipping department simply cutting corners. I can deal with a...

I got another job offer today. Like everything, there are advantages and disadvantages. My current (and still relatively new) employer of Frito Lay can offer me the ability to earn over $70,000 a year. A few of the senior guys even flirt with six figures. But I have been worried about the ongoing possibility of injury, and the hours have been killing me. Working odd...

Gosh you must be getting really tired of all this job stuff.
Is it to expensive to be independant?? Probably now it is but in the future?
pandara:
I know nothing about normal hours. blush biggrin
I can see how it would be nice.

Good Luck. I hope you like this one better than the ole' Frito Lay.

I'm not too happy with the new job. There's huge earning potential, but a whole slew of disadvantages. Primarily among them the feeling that I'm constantly on the verge of injury. "The way things work" at Frito-Lay makes no sense to me. Engineering maximum cubic capacity seems to take precedence over what would be safer. Moving freight on a hand-truck is no big deal. Moving...

It's not about you anymore. It's about the business best interest. That means you are small beans to them.

Oh sorry. It took you so long to hook them.

Another driver asked me about coke today at a cumby's I was delivering to. He's driving for some hardware company, the name i forget but a well known name. His report of that company was that the money's all right but the job sucks. That's a pretty common assessment of a lot of trucking companies, unless you're talking about something like swift, where the job sucks and the money sucks as well.

Sometimes i think that instead of leaving Werner I could have switched to their home depot account, since they have a warehouse half an hour from my house that they run to a lot that I could get hometime out of. There could have been some good miles doing that, running down to north carolina. And while the home depots i occasionally delivered to with swift could be tight, they were niver so totally ridiculous as what I was dealing with doing family dollar. Maybe you could do something kind of semi- over the road where you are on a dedicated account running things to your area. But whatever. I certainly get being burned out on over the road. The road itself doesn't suck but trucking companies and too-small loading areas certainly do.

I forgot about the homeland security part of the hazmat endorsement. I need to get on that.
