Dental news:
Oh joy, oh rapture!
Thanks again to everyone who gave me recommendations for dentists. I went to an appt. yesterday to Dr. Don Goudy (www.smile-designs.com) and he is the shiznit!!! First of all, the office is all classy (i.e. super nice dcor). Secondly, the office staff are angels. Thirdly, the doctor kicks ass. He is very skilled AND extremely attentive to my anxiety. Actually, I felt SO comfortable after talking with him for 20 minutes that my anxiety lessened. Thats never happened before.
Lastly, he has the coolest dental gadgets Ive ever seen, and he was happy to show them off. I got instant digital x-rays, got to see the new-fangled way that novocaine is administered, laughed while he found some small cavities that werent able to be seen by the human eye by using this crazy little machine that cries when it finds them, and also got to see the inside of my mouth/teeth with a little camera scope thingy. The only drawback is that my fianc has now seen waaay more dental detail of my poor teeth than he ever needed to see. LOL.
I go to my first big deal appt. on Monday. I cant believe I am saying this, but I am actually excited to start this process of getting my teeth taken care of. Oh, and the topper both the dentist AND the receptionist each gave a hug for being so brave. Who knew there were nice people in the dental profession?
Job & money news:
After one phone interview and two in-person interviews, I didnt get the part-time job. I really thought I had it. They SAID that someone with 10 years experience applied and they couldnt pass her up. Um, did she walk in that morning and apply? They had me meet every single person in the office and I came in at 10:30am! Didnt they know she existed before I put in all that effort?
I just feel so sad now. The job was perfect for me in every way pay, hours, timing. I loved the people too. They were really nice. Now, I am back where I started out totally screwed financially. I called my IRA people and took a penalty and took out as much moola as I could afford to and still keep my account open with them. It turns out that what I will get from them may only prolong us living on the street for an extra month. I NEED A FRICKING JOB!!! (If anyone knows ANYTHING, please let me know, okay?????)
Portland dream:
This sort of goes along with the job/money thing, but damn, I wish we had enough saved to move to Portland, OR when our lease is up on April 2007! At the rate we are able to save, its going to take years!! I picture having a wonderful new life there with beautiful green surroundings, much nicer and more mellow people (yay Steve and Jacqui! and Amanda too!), a better economy, and finally breaking away from all the negative baggage that San Jose has for me (memories, family, etc.). If I could, I guess I would move to coast of norcal somewhere, but its not affordable and there are no jobs there anyway. *sigh*
Everything must go!:
In light of everything aforementioned, I need to get back on the ball with selling/donating/tossing all the clutter around here. I have a personal web site I am working on that will have a Virtual Garage Sale page with a PayPal link, but until I get that up, if anyone wants the following type of stuff, I will sell it cheap!! I am working on pics of everything, but if you see something you are curious about, I can email you or post a pic asap. Just let me know.
- action figures (99% still sealed in their boxes)
- lots of books
- Buffy comics / Fray graphic novel / Angel comics
- sealed and never used photo albums & journals
- knick-knacks of all types
- clothes (some never worn and with tags still on)
I have tons of stuff, let me tell you!
Ta ta!
