I'm picking up Obrien from work the airport tomorrow. He, emogoddess, and myself are getting tattooed on Monday. I have not added new ink in almost 42 months. Wow, how's it been almost 3 and a half years?
The Sonic Youth show was awesome. My partner in crime(and the musical business) has decided to move to California. He just had an interview for an agent job with William Morris out in Beverly Hills. Whether he gets it or not he's going to California so he can more easily get such a position with a company.
I am equally parts sad and relieved that the business will be mine all mine. When he first went out for the job interview I was telling emogoddess about the ramifications of him moving that far. She said, "Do you think that you need him in order to do it?" Without hesitation my answer came back, "no." He brings a lot of energy and excitement to the table. That will be missed. He doesn't fully comprehend the mathical aspects of figuring out shows, but it's ok, because I do, very well. With Brett on board for the long term projections of the project, I just need to get this thing up and going.
I did not get to see Thurston after the show the other night. I considered tracking him down, but I was still feeling under the weather, and I still had a 45 minute drive home ahead of me, so I took off for bed. So instead I dropped him an e-mail, thanked him for putting me on the guestlist and added some line about the show being awesome. Which it very much was. I can not wait to see them again at Lollapalooza.
I am seeing Pearl Jam with Tom Petty on Sunday and again possibly Monday. I will then see Criteria on Friday night. Then Built to Spill is the following Monday and Tuesday.
Have I mentioned that this is the greatest summer of music of my life?

I hope that the business plan goes well for you. From what I read in Daniel's journal it seems like a great and totally fun idea. I used to do similar stuff in college.
I would love to be able to go with you guys to get a tattoo. I'm starting to really jones for my first one and multiple others. But, the money is not in the cards for that right now, alas.
