Sometimes I become scattered and fractious. For instance, deciding whether to go over and buy a pound of coffee, or rent a car and drive to Seattle. Which is the better idea?
At any given time, either one, obviously. Timing is everything.
The best things about the newspaper class is the amount of joking around that happens there. The people are mostly pretty smart and funny, although of course most of the humor is about sex and drugs. I'm not complaining, but there are other subjects.
Even the advisors get it on it, although they remain dignified.
However in 4 semesters the faces have changed a lot.
The best newspaper buddy I had went to work for a small newspaper a year ago. She had the best cutting sarcasm of them all.
We still get together for beers once in a while, in fact that's how I started going to the Cavern. We used to go there every wednesday and get righteously ripped.
Now she lives a little farther away and works a lot more hours, so we hardly go out much. We just send a few e-mails.
I drink with the new editors sometimes but it's not as good.
I guess I have to join a staff if I want drinking buddies. But I can't decide which town to do it in.
The choices are: Sacramento, Portland, rural Washington, or toss a dart at a map and go somewhere else.
If the wind blows hard enough I could end up almost anywhere.
