Coyote
Over and over the beautiful edge
I'm about to learn the way in.
I know there is one.
*********************************************
...one thing, I don't understand,
so many pretty women in Avalon
an i'm just one man.
"Avalon My Hometown"
The Mississippi John Hurt version.

The rocks are especially attractive today. I mean the stones along the road.
And the ceanothus in its greasy pride, fixing nitrogen.
Also the alley. An old fence both light and dark in the late afternoon.
There is great variety even among brick walls.
The dove lighting in the sycamore on a bare crotch. Leaves are just beginning.
How can the cedar make N street look like a mountainside?
By not looking down. Just cedar and sky.
I have strange masurbatory fantasies while standing in the light rail queue. They don't involve the people standing close to me, or even in sight.
Or even people really.

I was reading through the poetry kicks ass group and I have to say you do a gerat job at giving advice - I'm sure the people contributing appreciate your considerate reading of their work.
So far the most promising self-publish book I want to do is "Love: and other scary stories," which is a collection of love stories that are not really romantic or standard in the least. Original huh!
