Persistence is the answer to all problems.
I smell a rant
Short story: This weekend, I knew full well that updating my Ubuntu to 10.04 could bugger up my ghetto-ass but wonderfully huge $49 Aldi Medion Tablet, rendering her useless, but I did it anyway. And guess what? It did. Fucksocks. So I spent 3 days trying to make it work, probably 7-8 hours invested in forums, the goddam terminal, restarting, every alchemical voodoo combination possible- but, here I am now, a working tablet, a happy, giddy sumbitch. Now, if I tell average Joe about this, they will think "this guy is good at computers." Yeah right!
As an artist, I hate the word "talent." Do these people have any idea how much time I've put in to get to where I am, and how much more to get to where I want to be? Talent? Fuck talent! Persistence! I like to think I am a "persistent hack," I pretty much fuck up until I get something presentable (in my sole opinion of course).
The great thing about this, or 2 great things, is that A) you learn the best way, by fucking up, and B) you discover that you can do anything reasonably well by just doing it A LOT. People are capable of anything, the only limit is your desire to do so.
I think educational systems limit people as well, everybody learns differently. As a physics major in college, I had no idea what the hell was going on, because it was all explained mathematically. If concept was introduced first, in detail, the math would have made much more sense! I think schools can push people in the wrong way, Fuck, lost my train of thought, too many distractions! haha, shit, I'll click "add blog" anyway, feel free to comment!

Funny how I write a half-assed, unfinished blog about persistence. Life is ironic
