Christmas was as unmeaningful as ever. I think that next year I'm not going to allow any more then one present recieved per person. And it must be meaningful or homemade. None of that bath and body shit that you buy people cuz you dont know what they really want.
My family goes nuts with the presents. I honestly think that my mum and stepdad spent over 500 per kid (me and 2 sisters) I feel so guilty. I would have been thrilled with a sweater or a book, but instead I get a whole new livingroom and dining room basically. Not that I'm complaining about it, but its so awkward cuz I'm to old to get spoiled and they dont have the money and so many other things could have been done with the money. So many other things.

cranialstrain:
I know what you mean about the presents, it sounds almost 'humbug' but I almost didn't want to bother at all with presents this year, to spend money on something somebody doesn't want seems such a waste and would much rather spend it paying for a meal or night-out for the family. I think I've also hit that age where money and possessions doesn't mean anything anymore. At the same time it's always a families way of showing how much they love and miss you, although I always tend to get whiskey, I'm sure they all think I'm an alcoholic or something - hehe
