Man of La Mancha
That's right, it's finally happening, and I'm finally mentioning it, so there won't be any need for you to wait with breathless anticipation. Unless you're really into that. You could just wait until the very last night. And then you run the risk of it being sold out like some cabarets in Calgary I could mention . . .
But I digress.
For those of you who don't know, and believe me you are legion, Man of La Mancha is a musical retelling of Don Quixote in a play-within-a-play format, with the original author, Cervantes, performing the story of his mad knight for and with his fellow inmates in a prison of the Spanish Inquisition. More details if you click here.
I'm not one of the main characters, so I don't recommend coming just to see me, but for those that do, I play one of the prisoners, have a solo song as a comic relief-style character and perform as a belly-dancing gypsy in the second act. It's not quite a burlesque show, but I like to think that for those of you who, like me, didn't get tickets before the SGB sold out, maybe this show may be of some consolation.
Well, I need to be onstage in 12 hours. I better get some sleep.
