Today was my final exam, in Computer Programming Algorithms : Analysis and Design. The marks from two assignments and the midterm have been posted for a while but I haven't really looked at it until last night. I decided out of interest to calculate how I ranked in the class as far as the marks were so far, I usually am somewhere in the top half or so. So, on a spreadsheet I started calculating it out and sorting it by the result. I ended up being in the top ten.... but wait, I was in the top five also, and furthermore, top three, and actually, believe it or not, I was the top mark in the class of over 100 students. Wow, this was a surprise. Too bad I only spent half an hour studying for the midterm, two hours on each assignment usually allotted three weeks, and didn't attend class really at all, or open the book. As far as today's final goes, I admit I should have studied more than the hour I did today before it. I needed it. Some things on it I just didn't know. Not the best chance of maintaining the top mark in the class but felt good to have the claim to fame all the same.
The countdown before my cruise in the carribean has begun. I leave next Tuesday for a one week cruise way down south, much more southern than I've ever been before. I've been as far as Vermont for skiing as a family trip as a kid, Florida for Disney twice, Denver Colorado for my dads conference, Saskatoon Saskatchewan for my dads conference, Winnipeg Manitoba for my sixteenth bday present and also my dads confernce, and Halifax Nova Scotia on a family trip. This will be the first time off the north american continent. Will be interesting.
I had the crappiest luck today as far as scheduling. Everyone knew my last exam was today, so had literally 6 people wondering if I would hang out with them afterwards. A friend from first year uni who was now living and schooling in BC was visiting so I tried to meet up with her, but she took off two minutes before I called according to her sister who was in res. Then another friend who I had also planned to meet around the same time called and said the roads were too icy so she couldn't make it. Then another friend called and asked if I could hangout but said to her that I was meeting up with a friend from BC and would see her in a couple days. She is heading to England on exchange for all next semester. Should be fun for her. Wish I could go to England. Someday. Then three of my guy friends phoned me to ask where I was and to join them. *sigh* Eventually I found my BC friend totally by accident, we hung out, then I went to see my guy friends. Still have to organize a time to see my other two girl friends before I leave. I need to huddle in a corner, turn off my computer and cell phone, and put on ear phones. Having too many people at once asking for you can be such a pain. Where are these people the times I really feel like hanging out?
