Well, it's been a long time since my last post. I suddenly got tired of the internet.
Here's scans from six wednesdays' worth of comics; everything I bought 6-13-07 through 6-18-07.
and once I'm caught up, no more of these mammoth posts, I promise.

Just the highlights first!

REVIEWS FOR 6-6-07 and PICKS FOR 6-13-07

Here's my reviews from most of what I read last week.

Avengers: the Initiative #3 (marvel)
After hating this comic for the first two issues straight, somehow the third issue was not bad at all. It may just be because it guest-stars Spidey. Glad to say this book is shaping up.
PRETTY GOOD. (Slott/ Caselli)

Dark Tower: the...

Some good interesting picks. I so far have every issue of Dark Tower, but have yet to read one.

I agree, Dark Horse is kicking ass this year. They are easily my number one company for the year and the takers of most of money (and I am happy to give it to them).
jeremeyes:
how was the FF omnibus? Do you think it's worth the money? Are there extra features, or is it just all the issues? I think I can get this for a decently cheap price because my girlfriend works at Borders, but it's sealed in plastic there, so you can't look at the pages.

REVIEWS for 5-31-07 and PICKS for 6-6-07

I like the comic books. I had particularly few this week but the ones I bought were all excellent and the ones I just read were generally good, too.

the Boys (dynamite)
Well, issue 7 was on my list, but I haven't read it yet because I was going through the trade paperback. I read issue 1 when...

I can't say I'm the right person to ask as I've just started getting into comics this year, and pretty new to FF. But I can tell you this; With the exception of the 45th anniversary issue, I"ve been pretty consistantly entertained and wanting the next issue right away. I figure that's a fair barometer. The dynamics introduced with Black Panther in the group adds fun and a spontaneous tone to the dialog. Thanks for the DD tips, I"ll check back with you after I get my hands on a few. Right now, I'm backing up to get into Iron Man as well. I don't mind being mainstream while I find my taste.

REVIEWS FOR 5-23-07 and PICKS FOR 5-31-07

Comics came out on Thursday this week, thanks to shipping delays caused by Memorial Day. Damn federal holidays need to stay the hell out of my comic book reading. fuckin me all up. Hence, I am late with my reviews from last week, because I like to post my new picks along with them thereby limiting my entries...

Hey, glad u gave it a trysmile I know it's dense, espesh with the language we've invented, but lemme know if you pick up the next issue and if that helps it go down easier smile

jeremeyes:
the 8 issue x-men first class mini was kind of off and on. I sort of hated the interior art and initially picked it up for the covers, which I really loved. The Ice-man centric stories were more fun than the rest, I thought.

And I hear that The Boys #7 comes out this Thursday.

REVIEWS FOR 5-9-07 and COMIC PICKS FOR 5-16-07

Well, I so loved the scans I took last week that this week's reviews are nothing but scans! This takes me less time and is probably a more useful review than I could type, anyways. They are under spoiler tags not only to reduce scrolling but also because you will indeed be seeing interior pages.

the Amazing...

So, versus Mignola, how is Fegredo's Hellboy art? I always liked Fegredo, he won me over with his three issue comic Girl with Milligan.

What do you think of City of Others? I grew up as a Wrightson fan and I enjoy most of Niles' projects, so I am hoping that this book turns out to be a great read. I have read the first issue so far and I think it is a great idea for the duo.
