i just can't get enough enjoyment out of silly shit. the lobby of my building rotates out different bad art every so often. they hang it, it bothers people for 6 weeks, there's a showing, then it's gone so the next batch can come in. one set was all pears in different situations, like steps, in a bowl, on a table. horrible. there was a new batch (all crap) waiting for me today and some old ladies were checking it out when i got home. going between the door and the mailroom i heard: "kaye, gail, c'mere...see this...it's SO fascinating the way the images just..."
GET OUT OF THIS LOBBY.
pieces get stolen sometimes, and they'll post notes everywhere that basically say "missing art. please return the missing art." won't work and i don't know why they continue to hang shit in there. it's SO fascniating the way the images just...disappear. i'm not against art or anything, but when's the good batch coming in? poker dogs, nude women, lines painted with coffee, gimme something i can work with. like that winner on the left maybe.
i got to go in late today since my boss is the at home vacationer for a few days, but the party ends monday. right now i'm just sitting here waiting for the weedman to call back, but i can see the fair starting to light up if i go to the window. very nice.
