Well, another year has come and gone. And like most years, I like to take a moment to think about what happened, and who I should give my thanks and appreciation to. I should preface all of this by saying that this list will be posted in a couple of different places, so if you have read it on one site, you've already got the gist of it, though there will be a few minor changes. And while this list may be a bit long, I promise if you read it all you'll get some good karma out of the deal.
Though there were a few rough spots in 2006, I'd have to say that there were more good times than bad overall. Maybe for the first time in a while I can say that it was a good year for me.
There were a few stand-out events that really helped make the year for me
I joined the Suicide Girls site in February, and was immediately made fun of by the lovely Martini Suicide. I decided it would probably be a cool place to stay for a bit.
My brother's birthday in March: never had so much fun as throwing a giant Styrofoam plane up and down my street with a bunch of friends in the middle of the night. Oh, and getting a painting commissioned of him as Plastic Man was pretty awesome on my part as well.
My friend Melanie Jane visited me briefly in May during her whirlwind tour of the states from her home in the U.K. I thank her for finally getting me off the couch and discovering some of the nice cultural spots (pirate museum!!) I have nearby. Oh, and she gave my cat a cool catnip filled toy, which is pretty awesome because it got my cat out of my hair for a day or two.
Perhaps all the planets were aligned correctly, or all my good karma finally paid off in one shot, but somehow I convinced the lovely Hathor to move over 1600 miles to come live with me after only a couple months of phone conversations. Things have been pretty goddamned awesome since then:
My brother threw a nice party for my 30th birthday this year. More to his credit, he managed to manipulate things so that I ended up catering my own birthday party. He's a right clever bastard that one. We two goofy bastards:
I took Hathor to meet a few friends at the Suicide Girl burlesque show in Northhampton. We had a blast and gained a new appreciation for electrical tape, hula hoops and silly string.
Our 3rd annual Halloween party went off smoothly. Costumes and conversation was awesome as always. Kindle also moved in the night before the party, so a nice way for her to get settled in as well:
I finally got to meet Hathor's mom for thanksgiving when she flew out to stay with us for a few days. I was happy to show her around, and to cook dinner for them in return for the awesome thanksgiving dinner they made me.

Okay, I will try to thank some specific people, and I know that I will forget at least one or two peoplebecause that's the way I am. So if you think I may have forgotten to thank you for something awesome, or just a cool moment this past year, let me know.
Josh: you're the best brother a guy could ask for, but you probably already know that. Nothing else really needs to be said, you know the deal.
Hathor: I can't thank you enough for taking the chance and coming east to live with me. I love ya to death baby.
Dave and Heather: it sucks that you guys moved away. It was definitely way cooler being able hang out without having to plan a road trip. But at least this gives us a chance to go down and visit you and some of the other out of reach folks.
Adam and Debhinn: thanks for going to the SG show with us, we should definitely hang out more. I probably owe you guys a home cooked meal or two anyway.
Tracy, Keith and Jess: thank you, my housemates, for keeping me sane when I am wandering around the house in a sleep deprived haze.
The Monday Night Crew: it's always good to play cards or geek out with you guys. Well worth the loss of sleep.
Anyone who came to either the Halloween or my Birthday parties: you guys are all awesome, and those two days really kept last year rolling along nicely for me.

Thank you Salem for the ever awesome "I'm in Ur" thread

Resolution time!
Get my ass out of debt once and for all.
Travel to visit Hathor's family out west
Lose between 25-40 pounds
Get out to see a few concerts and more movies than last year
Less overtime, more nights cooking dinner at home
Have another barbecue this year
Hold the 4th annual Halloween bash
In may hold the first annual silliness spring sextacular. Collecting as many SG members together for a few days of fun, food and blackmail photos.
If you read all of this, thank you. I have been blessed with an abundance of good friends and family in life. And it fills me with joy that a simple thank you list might take me so long to write. 2006 was pretty good to me, I hope 2007 goes even better, for you and your's as well.
Happy New Year from J24U and Hathor!
