Band: Legal Weapon
Album Title: Death of Innocence
There is a certain charm to the jingly mess of punk rock that Legal Weapon specialized in. Starting somewhere in the early 1980s they played around LA and released several records before being co opted by a major label, releasing one record and fading into the underground, where they still seem to pop up every now and again.
The Album in question here is their first full length, Death of Innocence. Its a blast of throbbing bass, bluesy intense vocals and everything that marks a classic punk album, right down to clocking in less than 30 minutes. The individual songs pretty much stick to the broad theme of a loss of innocence. The tunes themselves range from mid tempo noise pop to faster punk rave ups. No matter the tempo all of the songs are filled with energy, and almost all of them are filled with bouncy throbbing bass, that keeps you bopping along through it all.
If youre a fan of female fronted punk rock, or early 80s Soc Cal punk, this is one to look out for.
