It's about time I wrote some thing here.
first off I am officially announcing that I have retired from commenting on Politics On Line. I just never come off correctly, and get frustrated. I an undecided on weather or not I will comment on social issues or not. One thing I do know is that there are several subjects I should keep my mouth shut on. One that I refuse to shut up about is the state of the music biz in the USA.... engage rant.....
As often happens I find my self loosing control of my senses and head out to buy some music. CD's that is, I don't have a record player currently, and I only buy used tapes once in a great while. So I head out to almost every record shop in town searching for what ever it is that has called out to be injected into my brain, and more often than not I arrive home empty handed.
The US record biz isn't making any money, maybe it's cause Rock'n'Roll junkies like me can't seem to find what we are looking for. You know I have money to spend, and I am willing to spend it, but No you don't have what I am looking for so I can't give you my money.
Let me pause here and mention that the CD's I am thinking of are not obscure, but they are not on the top 40 either. Yesterday I was all set to spend a chunk of change on CD's by Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen, and Asleep at the Wheel. I had been reading about them, and someone had noted that they were kind of the American version of Pub Rock (which was a style that in many ways fed into the 77 punk uprising in the UK), and figured I's like to check out some of their recordings further. I have had a tape of Commander Cody for years, but there is a Live album I want to get on CD. I haven't owned anything by Asleep at the Wheel but I have been reading about them for a while, and wanted to check them out.
I went to 5 record shops, and all I found was one CD from the list of 6 that I had. I did download a couple of tracks that I was looking for from iTunes, but it's really not the same.
end rant.....
anyway, that is all for today.. other than to note that I'm digging the new Southern Culture on the Skids CD, it's a lot of fun, and rocks.
final note. check out my last entry to see the really cool drawing of me, I'm the guy in the front. It's the only piece of Reanimator art work that you'll find me out front.

neodrunk:
Political rants can become very difficult on this site. Maybe even more so for me, considering that I usually veir more toward the right end of the spectrum then most. I usually just laugh, and keep my comments out of it.
