I tremble

at the thought

of unquenchable fires

that consume my very self

and yet you

You are the one

who taught me how to breathe

To breathe the fire

that dragons

once breathed

If aching left my hands to guess

and if ever I wondered

if someone loved me

I am now strong enough

to know I am not looking

for an approval of myself

from anyone or anything

I am in fact so sure

that if my hands were left

empty and starving

they could feed on the very

frenzy of it
