I was with the same guy for over 4 years and last year i left him and it was one of the hardest things i ever did. It seriously made me sick to my stomach, I puked and cried hysterically. I couldn't even drive home for an hour after i told him at his house; i just sat in my car crying. And I still love him beyond words.

It was also one of the best things i have done for myself and i still do not regret it.

He and i just weren't going to work and our relationship wasn't going where i wanted it to and he wasn't being the man i needed at the time. Luckily he and i have actually been able to stay good friends; in fact hes still one of my best friends.

All i can say is if the issues have been reoccurring, if you have been telling yourself for awhile now that the two of you need to split and if that one friend, the one who tells you everything straight and how it is without being biased also agrees, then you probably do need to leave her. At this point id look at all the issues in the relationship and think about how frequently they occur, are the minor or serious and how much of a toll does it take on you? Are they ever getting resolved? How long do you spend being sad, angry or upset?

And if your not going to leave why? And saying "because I love her" really shouldn't be a good enough reason for yourself. Also, how are you going to attempt to change things if you stay? Does she recognize the issues in the relationship?

For me leaving was hard because after four years being with the same person is comforting and familiar; of course it can be difficult leaving someone after just a few months.

While I have no idea what your specific issues are thats my tad bit on the subject.
I hope things get better for you, whether with or without your girl.
