Well I've come up with a plan to get my butt in gear. I've signed up for udacity's front end developer nanodegree program. About a month in and I've already got one project passed. Due date was 5/5 but I had it in friday (5/1) I probably couldve had it in two weeks ago but ran into some bugs in my code. Plus, I didnt want to completely neglect the kids. Coding has kind of been my me time. I pop in some head phones and tune everyone out. The wifes been good about caring for the kids while I do my thing with programming. We've been fortunate enough for her to hold a position that she can do from home for a fairly large company here in WI. Any ways, I do the dad thing while she puts in her 8-5 and after 7pm - as late as 2/3am I program/work my way through udacitys nanodegree. I really need to go on walks we have a cool trail id love to take the kids on. This covid shit really fucked everything up. especially for our son. We promised him a great new life after relocating from california. and this shit happened. must be a complete bummer to be uprooted from friends and transplanted half way across the country then have to isolate in place not being able to make friends. he was so looking forward to little league too. I feel like shit because of everything we promised him, i can only imagine how he must feel. hes definitely changed which sucks because hes such a smart, talented, funny kid and then this bullshit decided to fuck everyone's lives up. eventually, HOPEFULLY, things will slowly get back to normal.
sorry for the ramble. Post was supposed to be about making the most of it (the extra time having to isolate in place) I think if you dont come out of this with a new hobby, talent, SOMETHING positive from this, you really should look at your life and see what you can do to maybe read that book, learn to cook/can, paint, something you had said if you had the time to do it, you would. NOW's the time! i know it sounds stupid, probably heard that shit on tv/radio or even IG. It really is the time. I'm going to pick up painting again. Except, acrylic. I typically do watercolor. First piece is a Dita Von Teese Piece, Maybe I'll post a pic of it when its done.
so happy to be back on here. It's only been 11 years lol.
