To those who celebrated, Gong Xi Fa Cai.
My eldest sister is married to a Chinese Indonesian so we were invited to celebrate Chinese New Year with her husband's side of the family.
Aside from the fact that a whole lunar year is named after an animal (there's something really rad about that) the best thing about the day is that every unmarried person receives little red envelopes filled with money. Most people give about 10 dollars to the kids and about 30 dollars to the teens. But I was ever so lucky. My sister gave me 200 dollars and my sister's mother-in-law was nice enough to give me 120 dollars.
Yet another reason to never marry.
All is not lost, single friends! Just befriend a Chinese person and all will be well!

And...being confrontational like me means a lot of unwanted trouble...big trouble most of the time, oftentimes I wish I'd just shut my mouth.
