i did the most gorgeous self portrait today...
only one small problem: it's not me.. i'm not quite that beautiful.
(ok... i'm not saying that i particularly dislike the way i look, what i'm saying is this:
i did a self-portrait today while staring in the mirror. i spent a good amount of the class period on it, but i stopped early because i got fed up with drawing my hair since the rest was "done" (well, unless i wanted to do a shitload of erasing and start over, which i didn't.) later, i looked back at my drawing and realized that it was a drawing of what i would look like if i were perfect in accordance to our social beauty standards. it just kinda bummed me out a bit... it's like... is that what i'm subconsciously striving for or something? even my perception of aesthetics is societally tainted. ugh.)

yeah I gotta agree with Akira_li. it is hard enough being a beast without the beauties going around talking about how not beautiful they are.

AH! I'll try to find a shot of them to send. Maybe i can swoop one for you when i go to LA in a couple weeks. Were opening for hiero yay! I think you would look extra saucy in the shirt.
