Excerpt from my Alaskan Cycle Tour
July 28th 2009
Today was another windy day. We were a little more adjusted to deal with it this time though. Still it is a bit frustrating having to stay in low gear to go DOWN a hill.
On a funny note the wind apparently blew over Stevens parents gazebo.
Steven is starting a self inventory of his personal supplies right now. He has decided he has too much cloths (he does). So he is going to to mail it back home when we get to Grande Prairie.
For my part it was a bit of an embarrassing day. 45 minutes into our bike ride we stopped for a pee brake. It was then that I noticed one of my hiking boots was missing. It fell off somewhere between camp and there. I had to ride back and search for it. I offloaded my bike and set out back tracking on the highway. Luckily in the end, it was only 4 km back from where we stopped. Stevens shoes were falling off too as it turns out so we decided, through an act of pure genius, that on top of strapping them down we will now also tie the shoe laces to the bike !
Tomorrow, we hope (wind permitting) to make GP. We can then buy more food, do laundry and finally rest for a bit.
Oh, I also had a shower today. It was marvelous!
Note from the present: tying my shoes to my bike would actually back fire on me in Alaska. As I was going down a hill a shoe fell off but b/c of the shoelace it swung into my rear tire and nearly broke my spokes.

Where do you go to school? What are you studying?
Glad I made the cut for friend requests. But I should warn you - I sometimes disappear for periods of time. Well, to be honest, I still login everyday, but I go through periods of not talking much online. Just don't think I've disappeared for good.
do you have Moon pies?
