Good morning, you lovely people!!
In my last post I said that I would post pictures of my new home. Behold!!
Sparky is keeping a close watch on everything.
Lenny boy sleeping on the couch.
My room mate has a wonderfully eccentric style when it comes to home decor. It's so much better than any of that bland and predictable kitsch found in Target or Home Goods.
That's the record player I received for Christmas. I love it. I now understand how people can become vinyl junkies. I have to admit that having this record player has rekindled my love of listening to and appreciating music. I think that because picking a song on YouTube or simply hitting play on iTunes made listening to music effortless and took out any real thought when choosing what to listen to. Without music I was becoming hollow and vapid.
But now I'm feeling like I'm becoming my old self again. Passionate and full of thought. Instead of spending my extra money on going out I'm spending it on records and staying in and listening to them. It's s good change of pace, really.
Last week there was snow on the ground here in Charlotte. We all had a snow day, for the most part. One of the best things about living here is that if it does manage to snow and it actually accumulates the whole city basically shuts down. School is cancelled. Businesses choose not to put their employees in danger and decide to shutter their doors for the day. It was nice, really.
It was pretty to look at.
I say 'was' because it's all gone now. The temperature rose quite rapidly over the last week or so. Today it's a balmy 70 degrees and raining.
The weather has been so mercurial. It's driving my body nuts. I'd rather have it just stay chilly until spring instead of all this up and down nonsense. Despite what republicans say, climate change is definitely real.
Speaking of republicans, I'm glad the poster child for narcissistic personality disorder, Herr Trump, lost the Iowa caucus. That was probably due, in part, to his target audience not knowing what primary elections are.
I'm not pleased, however, that the race between Bernie and Hillary was decided with a coin toss. A fucking coin toss. Oh well, the race isn't over. I'm standing by Bernie and giving him my support. He's the only candidate who actually cares about people.
Anywho, enough with my leftist political agenda.
Until next time!!
