Now, I must admit that I don't play many video games. I'm a volatile combination of competitive and sore loser so I usually just get extremely frustrated with most video games and give them up. I remember when I was around 8 or so my mom had to take the Nintendo away from me because I threw the controller after losing a board on Mario Bros. one too many times. (I think it was one of the levels where there were balls of fire and possibly lava. I don't know. I was 8. That was a long fucking time ago.)
But there is one game that I can play over and over again and not get angry or violent when I lose. That game is Katamari. There's just something so nonthreatening and relaxing about the game. You roll things up in a ball and the ball, if your king of the Universe father deems it worthy, becomes a star!
Also, the soundtrack is amazing. It's a mixture of eccentric Japanese pseudo lounge music. It's pretty killer.
It's all just so absurd. Just like life.
You see, I don't like games that are too serious or consuming. You won't find me playing Call of Duty or Dark Souls or Resident Evil. Games are supposed to light hearted. Fun. They're supposed to take your mind off of the evil in the world, of which there is too much. They're not supposed to reinforce the evil. They're supposed to dilute it.
Anyway, I went to my first Con this past weekend. My BFF (to use the parlance of our times) and I went to Heroes Con here in Charlotte. It was pretty awesome.
I think that's the most decent picture of Forrest and me to date. We really don't have that many pictures of us together! He worked one of the booths for a local comic shop here in town and was so darn excited to wear his Dark Souls helmet. Of course, everyone thought he was the Black Knight from Monty Python, which was funny.
I met a lot of really cool people and had an all around good time. Maybe, one day I'll get over my anxiety and go to one of the bigger cons.
I feel like I haven't been on the site as much as I should. I guess I've just been busy, or depressed, or both, which sucks. Sometimes, I can't even get myself out of bed let alone open up my computer.
But I'll try to change that and try to be more active on here!
