So first things first...
I got a new tattoo!!
If y'all weren't already aware that's H.eL.P.R. from my favorite show, "The Venture Brothers". A good friend of Forrests had a small birthday party at a tattoo shop for his birthday and the owner had a special for the attendees of the party. I mentioned to the artist that I wanted a Dr. Girlfriend tattoo and now he's drawing up a pin up style Dr. Girlfriend as I type this!!
I finally was able to move my cat, Bastet, in with me. Since I moved in, I've had foster dog after foster dog and this apartment is definitely not big enough for two animals so Bastet lived with my parents until I could move her in. After dropping my last foster off at transport I packed her up and brought her home. I love dogs, but I must admit that I am a cat person through and through. I admire greatly their independence and adore their brand of off beat affection. It might sound odd, but I like how cats can be mad at you. I remember when I was still at moms house and would come home after staying at Forrests for a few days she wouldn't 'speak to me' for a few hours.
The first few days I had her here she stayed underneath the dresser, almost petrified with fear. Then suddenly, as if nothing was wrong, she sauntered out of her spot and walked around the place as if she's always owned it.
I found a turtle friend the other morning.
I was browsing through some old note books today and discovered a piece I wrote. I don't know when I wrote it. My best guess is that it's from 2011-2012. Here it goes:
At the end of the night
there was only wine,
and we dealt with that accordingly.
The day began at nine am
with a headache
and a short glass of water.
The word 'merriment' suffices
to put this picture in perspective.
Merriment
along with desperation.
a chasing
not unlike a fox hunt.
They hardly catch the fox,
you know.

I don't know if it's any good, but it reminds me that I should probably write more, if only for my own good.
Anyway, here are more pictures:
