Sorry for the sporadic activity on here as of late. I've been super busy and I've been spending a lot of time in a house that is currently sans internet.
The current homework assignment handed down from @lyxzen, @missy, and @rambo currently asks what the geekiest thing about me is.
(drum roll please)
Ta-da!! I'm a Venture Brothers fangirl!!
The geekiest thing about me by far must be my obsession with 'The Venture Brothers' on Adult Swim. I own every season on DVD and have seen each of those episodes multiple times. And even though I've seen all of those episodes so many times it would make a lesser mans eyes bleed I could keep watching them! I just don't get sick of it. A friend gave me the henchman mask featured in that picture and when the sheets went on sale I was one of the first to buy them.
I just love the concept of the show and the characters so much! I even wrote an essay once about how Dr. Girlfriend is a feminist icon for my generation. (She's smart, would rather have her abilities featured rather than her sexuality, acknowledges hers and The Monarchs flaws, and has no problem speaking her mind. However, at the same time she's also vulnerable. If you really think about it, she's one of the more three dimensional female characters on television at the moment.)
Anyway...I digress...
Another geeky thing about me would probably be my toy collecting hobby. I love toys. I love finding and buying awesome toys when I have the money. I'm not a collector per se. I don't collect toys and keep them in the packaging so they'll be worth money some day. I collect toys because I genuinely enjoy them. That doesn't mean I still play with toys (not those kinds of toys, anyway. Giggidy). I just enjoy finding them and setting them on shelves and such in my house. I guess you could say that I use them as home decor, because who would want to buy boring crap from Home Goods and Ikea when you can decorate your house with toys!
Sometimes, I take a step back and think, "Aren't I a little old for all of this?" Shouldn't I have grown out of this? Shouldn't I be tickled pink buying useless discount vases and run of the mill wall hangings after I get my biweekly manicure and before meeting the girls for a glass of wine so we can talk about how stupid our boyfriends are and our latest shoe acquisition? Then I come to senses and realize that no. No I am not a little old for all of this!!
I am who I am. I couldn't be anyone else if I tried.
