I'm getting ready for my trip to New Jersey. I'll be driving over night, like I do every time I drive up there. When I tell people I drive over night they wince and remark on how brutal it must be. It's really not all that brutal. There's less traffic and the dogs and puppies tend to stay asleep. The more they sleep, the less they bark, pee, and poop. However, from 1.30 to about 4 am, a period I call 'the witching hour', I get pretty loopy and sleep deprived. To stay awake I begin waxing poetic about billboards. It's pretty hilarious. One of these days, I'll bring a voice recorder with me and record my ramblings.
"But Iggy," you ask, "Why are you driving puppies and dogs to New Jersey?" The answer is that it's part of my job with the animal rescue. There's simply not enough homes here down south for them, so a lot of our pups go up north to find their forever homes.
I usually only stay a few days, but this time I'll be staying longer so that mom and I can spend Christmas with the family. Half of me is looking forward to it as I'll be able to see my hetero lifemate, who I haven't seen since last Christmas. The other half of me will miss my handsome mister.
But....said hetero life mate is coming down here for New Years, which is fucking awesome!!
Anyway, here's a picture of said hetero life mate:
Color me excited!!!
And if I don't manage to get on here before Christmas, Have a merry Christmas everyone!!!
