So, I've decided I'm going to skip this weeks blog homework. This is mainly due to the fact that I told my only even remotely creepy story in my last blog because I'm not psychic and didn't know I'd have a better opportunity this week. However, I am excited to read y'alls creepy and scary stories. Even though I'm a devout atheist I adore the paranormal.
In other Iggy news...
I have a new room mate for the time being!
His name is Buddy and I love him. We're also attached at the hip. I'm becoming one of those women who carry a Chihuahua under their arm everywhere they go. He was due to be put to sleep at the shelter last week and we just couldn't let that happen. It's sad that perfectly wonderful pets get put to sleep for no other reason that there are no homes for them. THIS IS WHY YOU SPAY OR NEUTER YOUR GODDAMN PETS, PEOPLE!!
He's going to be hard to give up, but if I keep him then I won't get to help the next dog that needs me.
It's why I do what I do.
(For those of you just joining in, I work in animal rescue. My organization goes into high kill shelters and pulls the adoptable dogs whose time at the shelter is up.)
Anyway, Halloween is fast approaching and I'm still scrambling to find something awesome to do that night. It's exciting though. I love the energy in the air this time of year. It's simply wonderful. The air smells fantastic and the way sun shines in the fall is like no other time of year. I can't really explain it, it's just different. It's a different sort of sunshine.
Today I walked around Charlotte and hung up flyers for the Blackheart Burlesque show that's coming up on the 12th. I'm going to continue the quest tomorrow. When I am done, the city will be plastered in flyers for the event. I'm sick of people around here not knowing what Suicidegirls is, so I decided it was high time I take matters into my own hands and educate the good citizens of the Queen City on the gospel of SG!!
And now I shall end this blog with a patented Iggy pearl of wisdom...
"Slut: A rather colorful word used in attempt to degrade women who excitedly and zealously exercise the right to say 'yes'."
