The kiss quote was from an ex-boyfriend of mine, I believe, when we were in a bizarre in-between state after my breaking up with him, and our being not together but entirely dependent on each other for another year. I think it had something to do with how nice my lips were, and how he really wanted to kiss them. And I didn't want him to.
change is good, but i have to admit, i'll miss the crimson pic!
you said:not sure what a 1.5 chip is, but i hope it's a good thing
as people in recovery move forward on their paths of sobriety, AA or NA or other 12- step programs mark the anniveraries with a "chip" (they resemble poker chips) or a keychain, for intervals like 1 hour, 1 week or 30, 60 and 90 days; or 6 and 9 months or yearly.
so 1.5, or 18 months, acknowledges that achievement.
after that, they are awarded on an annual basis.
(but lately i have wondered what they give people in gamblers anonymous--probably giving them a chip is not a great idea!)
i was an addict (marijuana, pharmaceuticals and heroin) for 30 years, until my wife kicked my ass.
so i went into treatment june 24, 2003--my very 1st day of sobriety in 3 decades.
i owe my life to her, to sierra tucson (where rush limbaugh, among others, went) and to narcotics anonymous.
so although i never thought those cheap, little bits of plastic meant much, now i see they are paid for dearly and mean more than non-addicts or non-alcholics ever realize.
so, yes, it is a very good thing!
and fyi, suicide girls has its own group for sobriety!
stay turn for a new pic for my profile--me and frank zappa, shivering in an open field. news @ 11...........

woo drunkenness!
I haven't been able to drink without getting all gross and sick in forever, so I've pretty much given up. Two drinks now and I'm a stumbling mess.
Kudos Saucy_Son! I was raised in a christian environment, and one thing I know is, the church can be really hard on you! It took a lot of balls for Bush to make that speech in front of his christian supporters. By making that statement he put himself on the line with the church in general.
I didn't take it that you were endorsing it... I was just speaking my mind about it.
I think he's the worst thing that's ever happened to the left, because the massive support that he gets for his incompetent and/or intentionally deceptive (I suspect both are in play) views and works really discredit liberals who have reasoned, intelligent viewpoints to discuss.
e.g. it's hard to hold a discussion in a room with a shouting moron.
made an angry call to the kerry campaign office last night because of their lame-ass cave-in on the bush service-record issue. felt better afterward, even though i was talking to a stupid tape machine. talk about the age of diminished expectations . . .
I dunno, what if I had kids of my own and then didn't feel differently about them, and still wanted them to go away? That would be terrible. I'd rather not take the chance.
yeah, the 95% might even be a little low. my new arguing strategy is gonna be two fold.
1 what has bush done for you? yes, you personally.
2kerry isnt fit to lead? he commanded a boat in his twenties. what has bush HIMself done? fuck up iraq? ohhh yeah.
