I watched "Focus" last night. The best film you've probably never heard of. How can that be? It has William H. Macy, Laura Dern, Meatloaf (yes, that Meatloaf and he does a really good job). Based on a 1945 novel by Arthur Miller. The movie release date was Nov 2 2001. I think that in the prevailing fears and attitudes toward Muslims or anybody having any sort of middle eastern look about them directly following the events on 9-11, a movie about the intolerance of Christian New Yorkers toward the jews during WW2 might be too close of a parallel for the general public to face up to. At least in a society of fear and fear mongering.
