Hello SG land. I already miss Toronto and I can't wait to go back this Saturday for a BlueJays game. I had a lot of fun hanging out and having great eats in Chinatown. I love buying pirated asian movies that are hard to find. Any fans of Japanese spray vcinea should watch the Machine Girl. This whole figuring out my life business is fun...

Yeah... I've done one kind of big move in my life and it was a huge huge change. Where are you thinking of moving? I've been to Cornwall a few times... it is a pretty small town. Ah... I learned to play acoustic guitar in highschool, but then never really did much with it after that...although I still have my guitar.
kurosune:
OH IT IS SO ON. LIKE DONKEY KONG.
No one insults my pokemon and gets away with it!!!!
So, who do you usually have in your team?

How is everyone in SG land today. I have a new goal that I am going to tackle in my life. I am going to do something that challenges/scares me every day. challenging yourself is the only way that you really grow. Now I just need to think and come up with ideas.

I think if you document it here you'll feel responsible for actually doing it. Plus it will be interesting to read.
kurosune:
Oooh! Let me read some of your creative writing when you get the chance! I LOVE writing. So much. Men who can write?

Hello SG ppl. i came to the realization that I need to get myself out of my day to day rut and start making some real money. I want to teach english abroad. Has anyone done this before? I am looking at teaching in asia. what qualifications are needed?

I've been teaching ESL in the U.S. for the past few years. I'm going to teach in Japan next February or March. As the person above me said, most jobs require a Bachelor's degree. If you get TESOL/TEFL/CELTA certified (look it up online), you'll have more job choices. A Master's degree in a related field will also give you more job choices, but it isn't necessary. You should think about whether you would want to teach children or adults. If you want to teach kids, you can get a specialized certification for that, but that's also not necessary. And if you want to teach kids, you should think about whether you would also be willing to take on extra duties at a school: sports, games, arts and crafts. And you should look for a program that will sponsor a work visa. A lot of programs do, but you have to look out for the ones that don't. You'll have a much easier time if a company/school sponsors a work visa before you depart. I've heard of cases of people traveling to a country and getting a teaching job after, but getting a work visa for that just takes a few more steps and can be annoying.

A friend of mine taught in Thailand and will be going to Egypt soon but she just signed up for a program she found at a college. I think all you really need is a bachelors degree. I wish I could help you more. I might be able to send her your email if you are interested, she would be much more of a help than I am
Hello Sg land. my Philly vacation is still going well. I really have not done much touristy stuff. I have never been into the tourist stuff anyway. This trip has finally given me a chance to clear my mind and figure some life stuff out. I realize that small town life is not for me at all. As soon as I get home I will...

Glad the trip is working out for you. Sometimes all it seems to take is a change of surroundings

I am really enjoying my time in Philadelphia so far. I just love the vibe of this city. I even love it here when I am chilling out and doing nothing. I am a visitor yet I feel at ease here. Its strange I have lived in cornwall most of my life ans I always feel out of place there. The Philadelphia zoo was awesome...
