Well...I broke my cherry...my selling my pinstriping cherry, that is!
I reserved a merch spot at the First Annual Milltown Ink Hot Rod show in Palmer, MA this past weekend so that I could sell my brother's most awesome book, Mommy Has a Tattoo, as well as the coloring book that goes with it. (if you don't already have a copy, you need one!)
Then, sort of as an afterthought...being that my husband and I had just recently purchased some One Shot paint...I decided, with his very enthusiastic support, to go ahead and pinstripe some of those blank slate purses I'd had sent out to me from my storage in Cali...y'know...just as a lark, to throw them on the table too and see what happened...
Here's some of the stuff I was able to knock out...Pardon some of the crappy photo quality...
I'm happy to report that although this was a first annual show...often fraught with gliches all over the place...this show was easy to find, well organized, and HUGE!!!
Having SEEN vending done before...and having attended numerous car shows...at least I knew what was important to pack for our adventure...i.e. grill...cooler...beer...
Six year old neice?! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Oh yes...we got stuck babysitting at the very last minute as my new sister in law gave birth to her twins... I thought maybe at least I'd be able to put my neice to work being cutesy, getting people to buy stuff...but within an hour I realized she'd be better off locked in my trunk... Oh well...no such luck...
All in all...despite the hellish six year old...and despite the fact that I wasn't able to cruise the rows and rows of beautiful cars with my husband as I would have liked...by the end of the day I'd sold ALL of my purses and many of my brother's books! I was also able to squeeze in some awesome swing dancing, some further networking for Singed Wing Productions, my new homebased company, a free shot of whiskey, lots of support to keep pinstriping, and of course...s'mores!
In case I haven't mentioned...we camped out that Saturday night (which I wouldn't recommend with a whiney six year old)...and having forgotten to bring breakfast food...we had s'mores the next morning! Yum!
All in all a good time! This year went over so well, next year they're making the show a three day affair!! I can't wait!!!
