Well, I'm behind on my comments again, so easy to do! I was in a bit of a funk this week, for various reasons, and that adds up to a not very chatty me.
I did see a couple of movies this week though! It's so great to live in a city where I can see the following on the big screen, all in one week, at fun little movie theaters!
Wed. = On Dangerous Ground (good film, but there is much better noir out there)
Thurs. = The Guatemalan Handshake (sweet, quirky, lovely film and no, the whole film wasn't in reverse )
Sat. = Do the Right Thing (my favorite Spike Lee joint, so great to see on the big screen again)
A big thank you to SurlyMike for introducing me to the joys of Morning Glory Chai!
And a big thank you to ShellyMC for helping me out at the video store the other night.
question time!
1. do you prefer a male of female doctor?
2. do you read labels on food? What are you looking for?
3. what is your ideal weather?
4. have you ever snuck into a movie without paying?
5. do you have tomorrow (President's day in the USA) off work?

5. Thank the lord jesus christ in heaven and all the glorious gods above that I don't live under the rule of your back woods, red neck, donkey fucking pelican President.
..so, no, I didn't get Presidents day off. I have a Prime Minister (who has his head up your Presidents ass)
I currently have five kitties. Josie was my oldest and I finally had her put to sleep due to kidney failure last summer. I also have strays wander through. Some are tame enough to get adopted at the humane society, others are sick and I've had to have them put to sleep, and others wander on to other places after stealing some of Otis's food for a few days.
Thanks for the advice. My grampa has been in a care facility for about 16 months (he'll be 90 in November). About two years ago, his doctor recommended he consider hip replacement due to his difficulty getting around and the amount of pain he had. He considered it because the doctor told him he'd be in the hospital for only seven to ten days. Once he found out he'd have to go through rehab for another six or eight weeks after that, he didn't want to have anything to do with it, because he'd "lose his freedom". Several months later, he was finally unable to take care of himself and had to go to the hospital for a couple of weeks to get his health back. While there, dementia really set in and he's struggled with it from time to time since (he showed subtle signs of it prior, but finally losing his ability to take care of himself seemed to push him over the edge). And he's been bedridden with only limited ability to get around in a wheelchair ever since, as well (so much for maintaining his freedom by not getting that hip replacement). So, even if he gets it now and can walk again, he'll still have to remain in a facility designed for people with dementia. He is completely dependent on medicare and the facility he's lived in this last year is set up to do rehabilitation as well. We aren't impressed with some of the people working there or management, but he has remained healthy, so they are doing some things right. The more we hound them, the better they respond.
