Ack, well I thought I was ready to get back on here, but I'm way behind in commenting again! I'll try to get caught up, I promise!

I've had my dog Brody for almost 7 years, and in that time I've heard him howl at a passing siren maybe 3 times total, he only does it once in a blue moon, but on Friday he...

So, who wants a blow job?

Okay, I'm kind of back. I had a very nice break.
I will slowly try to catch up on commenting. smile

Last week I bought my tickets for the 33rd Seattle International Film Festival. I will attempt to see around 22 films in 3 1/2 weeks.
Hopefully none of them will resemble any of these...

Okay Shelly, how many of...

You are very sweet.

1. If you missed Irreversible, meh. It was highly intentionally unpleasant. As was my job last week.

2. I'm glad you liked those b&w's of the street cats! They were quite artsy! I LOVED that lonely looker in the street...so lovely.

3. I cannot think of 2 more pleasant joined images than kitties & cupcakes. Pleasure! Benicio should be their supervisor.

Your little top 5!

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

1. Mystic River
2. Cupcakes, always
3. No complaints. Wearing a Cobain sweater.
4. I'd take the Viking if it could get me traveling to Norway.
5. Cupcakes, always

1. "Let's Go to Prison" had no redeeming qualities at all and I had a really hard time watching it all the way through. I think that while I had the movie in the DVD player I cooked dinner, read, and probably internet porned myself. I don't remember laughing a single time. "Dude, Where's My Car" also blew.

2. Cupcake. Who would pick muffin on this one?

3. It's mid 70s and the past few days have been really, really nice.

4. Depending but I'm more attracted to dark hair so probably the Romanian.

5. I like to be in control so I do like to give but I'm not going to turn anyone with skilZ down.

Well all these changes on SG, plus the fact that I have company coming this weekend, and I'm going out of town the following weekend, have made me decide to take a little SG break! I'll be back in a couple of weeks. Everyone be good! smile

I had a really nice weekend, despite feeling somewhat anti-social.
Saturday, SurlyMike and I took a day trip to Vancouver, where we met the lovely and delightful Jorryn. She is even more beautiful in person and just completely fun to hang out with! I hope we can convince her to come down to Seattle some time! We had some yummy food at The Foundation,...

Thanks so much for the photos. If you did all that for me, it's very sweet of you. It must have taken some time. I am definitely sold on checking Akumal out. It would probably be a fluke getting a trip their exactly, but it'll be the first place I look into. All the gatos! miao!! I loved the one in the food bag, you're right.

Well, I'm behind on my comments again, so easy to do! I was in a bit of a funk this week, for various reasons, and that adds up to a not very chatty me.

I did see a couple of movies this week though! It's so great to live in a city where I can see the following on the big screen, all in one...

catdad:
Thank you for the long comment. I know you put some thought into it. I go through phases of focussing on different meals. There was a Trader Joe's phase for a while. The only thing I consistently really like from them now are their frozen cooked tail-off 70-110 ct shrimp (a staple in my freezer at all times) and a couple of their simmer sauces. I'll probably go through another phase with them at some point.

I currently have five kitties. Josie was my oldest and I finally had her put to sleep due to kidney failure last summer. I also have strays wander through. Some are tame enough to get adopted at the humane society, others are sick and I've had to have them put to sleep, and others wander on to other places after stealing some of Otis's food for a few days.

Thanks for the advice. My grampa has been in a care facility for about 16 months (he'll be 90 in November). About two years ago, his doctor recommended he consider hip replacement due to his difficulty getting around and the amount of pain he had. He considered it because the doctor told him he'd be in the hospital for only seven to ten days. Once he found out he'd have to go through rehab for another six or eight weeks after that, he didn't want to have anything to do with it, because he'd "lose his freedom". Several months later, he was finally unable to take care of himself and had to go to the hospital for a couple of weeks to get his health back. While there, dementia really set in and he's struggled with it from time to time since (he showed subtle signs of it prior, but finally losing his ability to take care of himself seemed to push him over the edge). And he's been bedridden with only limited ability to get around in a wheelchair ever since, as well (so much for maintaining his freedom by not getting that hip replacement). So, even if he gets it now and can walk again, he'll still have to remain in a facility designed for people with dementia. He is completely dependent on medicare and the facility he's lived in this last year is set up to do rehabilitation as well. We aren't impressed with some of the people working there or management, but he has remained healthy, so they are doing some things right. The more we hound them, the better they respond.
