SurlyMike and I have been going to a series of film noir films, I believe there were 8 in total, and last night was the final one and I'm happy to say, the best.
Have you ever seen Bullitt?
I really liked this film a lot! These days it's pretty hard to find a cop/action flick that's not over the top, but in 1968, for this one film at least, they totally get it right.
I had only previously seen Steve McQueen in The Getaway and The Towering Inferno (both when I was a teen), so I didn't realize what a kick ass actor he was. His performance is so subtle, yet so strong. Now I want to see more of his films!
There is also one of the best car chase scenes I've ever seen in this movie (can you beat San Francisco for a car chase scene?). I don't think this youtube clip will hold a candle to seeing it on the big screen (when they're going down those steep hills you can totally feel it in your stomach), but I still think it's cool! And I'm not just predjudiced because Steve is driving my favorite car ever, that I used to own, a '67 Fastback Mustang, okay, I guess his is a '68, but it's almost identical to the '67.![smile](https://dz3ixmv6nok8z.cloudfront.net/static/img/emoticons/smile.0d0a8d99a741.gif)
That scene left me feeling exhilirated, and on the drive home my horribly suppressed for years inner speed demon wanted to play.![smile](https://dz3ixmv6nok8z.cloudfront.net/static/img/emoticons/smile.0d0a8d99a741.gif)
I want my old car back!!![frown](https://dz3ixmv6nok8z.cloudfront.net/static/img/emoticons/frown.cec081026989.gif)
This isn't much of an update, but I wanted to share this great film with whoever (whomever?) might be interested.
Questions!
1. Do you have a favorite Steve McQueen movie?
2. If you could own any car, money's no object, what would it be?
3. What's your favorite kind of soup?
4. What's the worst thing you will be doing this weekend, and what's the best thing?

When I bought new tires this year it was recommended that I get ummm..special tires, apparantly I was wearing the others thin too fast...I dunno much about cars, but I do know my car corners the curve on Freedom PKWY at 65 nice and low to the ground...sometimes if I am lucky I get a little smoke and lift and go WHEE !!!
I drive like a bat out of hell, when solo..if somebodies in the car..then I drive like...well...how would Betty Crocker drive? or driving Miss Daisy......
So ???'s
1. Do you have a favorite Steve McQueen movie?
Who? I am not a good movie person.....short attention span and terrible memory
2. If you could own any car, money's no object, what would it be?
ooohhh...this is hard, ok I wish Santa would bring me one of these pretty babies, along with a full year of insurance paid...
but preferably I would be looking at it in conditions like this
3. What's your favorite kind of soup?
no way I can answer that.....I love soup, eat it all the time and make it all the time.....lets see I am very fond of a French garlic soup...called...I forget how to speel it, i will refrain..but it is vegetarian and delicious !! My friend made it for me a few weeks ago.....
4. What's the worst thing you will be doing this weekend, and what's the best thing?
Work, work, work...and oh I got to see Ray Lamontagne play and walked in the freezing cold all over over downtown Atlanta....this weekend coming up...I have no idea, prolly I will spend all my spare time making chocolate truffles and maybe I will go to some Xmas parties, there's loads this weekend to go to...
