Have you ever met any of your SG friends? If so, who have you met?
If not, then you really should, because I have met some of the greatest, most interesting people through SG.
AND I have photographic evidence.
SurlyMike and I headed east for the holidays, flying into Newark, and then the next morning we were off to meet CorpHo and her hubby in Brooklyn. If you don't know CorpHo, you should check her out, I find her to be one of the wittiest people on this site. And now I know that she is just as beautiful in person as she is in her photos! She was nice enough to feed us and helped me meet my chamomile quota for the day. They are fantastic hosts, and I thoroughly enjoyed the limited time we had there. Aren't they a cute couple?

This is one of their cats, Vinnie, who looks like a hard ass, but is really just a big marshmallow. I believe he would do quite well on the rodeo circuit.

The only downside to the day was when Atlantis had a run in with her pal Subcomandante Marcos aka Rebeldito. There were some tense moments early on when Atlantis made an off-color joke about the guerrillas in Chiapas, but the situation seemed to be diffused when he later led us all in a rousing rendition of "Viva Zapata".

Afterwards we headed to JFK for a short flight to Boston. There's a long story involving someone being in our room, pouring rain, Thanksgiving dinner at Uno Pizzeria, and us having to find another room for the night, but it's not really all that interesting so I'll spare you.
Friday we headed to Brockton to hang with one of my favorite people on this planet, the gorgeous and oh so fun ShellyMC! If I could have one Christmas wish this year, it would be that her and Dorwayin did NOT live on the opposite side of the continent! Shelly entertained us with her wacky cats, some AbFab episodes, some SG, some VERY nice photos, and some gourmet cheeses and vegemite. I wanted to steal most of her movie collection, but I restrained myself. Later that night we went to Coriander in Sharon, Ma., the very nice restaurant where Dorwayin works, where we were joined by the adorable TestyKitty and her equally adorable significant other, The Mexican. I was really looking forward to this, and I was not disappointed!!! Mike and I are mostly vegan, and he really took care of us! Here is some of what we enjoyed, you can see more detail on Dorwayin's page.
First, an amuse bouche of beet risotto (correct me D, if I'm wrong on any of this!).
This was so yummy, I wanted to wolf a whole plate of them!

Then we had a yummy mushroom vol-au-vent, followed by one of the tastiest salads I've ever had, and I am not kidding you when I tell you that I am a salad snob!
Check it!

The main course was DELICIOUS, a vegan cassoulet presented by the master himself....

The cassoulet was so good, I can't even tell you, but for me, someone who does not eat refined sugar, and has not had a really decent dessert in many a year, the highlight of the evening was the Apples en Paquette....it was so good I wanted to get naked and roll around in it....

From left to right.... SurlyMike, Dorwayin, ShellyMC, TestyKitty and The Mexican.....don't they look happy with their full bellies?

Wow, this is becoming a very long entry, are you still with me?!
On Saturday, Mike and I took a drive through the Mt. Auburn bone orchard. You can see what a beautiful day it was!

Especially considering this is what I came home to!!!

Sadly, Dorwayin had to work on Saturday, but Shelly took the train and met us in Harvard Square and the three of us took a drive to Salem where we ate Indian food, did some shopping and wandered aimlessly for several hours enjoying all things witchy. We had some refreshments across the street from this interestingly named liquor store...

Then we were off to see "Volver" which we all enjoyed!
On Sunday Dorwayin and ShellyMC drove back into Boston and we all had lunch at Bukowski's Tavern where Dorwayin was nice enough to take my new profile pic for me!!!
D is such a nice guy and such a great cook, not to mention smart as all hell, I would like to steal him away from Shelly, except that I'd also like to steal Shelly away from him, so let everyone involved be warned!
After that we had to head to the airport, and I think both of us were wondering how we could next get back to the east coast. Afterall, we *did* miss out on meeting Afterbirth and Anaxarete, so clearly we need to rectify that!
I hope that all of you in the US had a really wonderful holiday!!!
What was your favorite thing that you ate on Thanksgiving?
And if you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, what's the best thing you've put in your mouth in the last week?

I thoroughly enjoyed our visit, and am so chuffed that you and Mike came all the way over to come to my house. David also had a great time with you, and let's not forget all the attention Vinnie got! Mike has got to get some of that video up of the buckin' bronco routine.
And isn't Mexican-on-Mexican violence so sad? Even when action figures are involved.
i've met a small fraction of my SG friends, but then again, my friend's list is out of control. I'd say they were/are all winners!
