I spent this last weekend in, to quote the Pixies, "a town where I am going to live" (hopefully.....one day), Port Townsend, Washington, for their annual film festival.
Malcom McDowell was the special guest this year, and he was nice enough to take a photo with me and Seor Atlantis! I was quite thrilled to have my picture taken with "Alex de Large". Look how he still has a devilish twinkle in his beautiful blue eyes!
I went with SurlyMike and my friend CandyPants, no, that's not her real name. I finally taught El Luchador Atlantis how to take a photo, and he snapped this of the three of us after we saw a showing of Laura (oh my god, how beautiful was Gene Tierney?!!!).
We also saw the Malcom McDowell film "If...". Yes, there were current films there as well, but this was the only one we saw. Oh, although Atlantis and I went to a drop-in movie at the High School called Lucha Libre: Life Behind the Mask, but we had to leave early to catch up with Surly & CandyPants for the "If..." screening.
Here is a picture of what CandyPants had for breakfast one morning....these were called Wedding Cake Waffles...
There are many many reasons why I want to live in Port Townsend (small town-ish, yet very liberal and artistic community, beautiful views, fantastic architecture, cool shops, friendly people, on the water), and on this last trip I found another reason. Why couldn't this have been over the weekend!!!?
I'll be home for a few days and then I'm off to Chicago on thurs. for 4 days. All this travel is great fun, but I got my visa bill when I got home last night and had a small heart attack. I think I need a third job!
Question time!!
1. Have you ever broken a bone?
2. Ever been arrested?
3. When you're eating a plate of food, do you save a bite of your favorite thing for last?
4. Have you ever walked out on a movie? If so, which one?
5. Do you feel older or younger than your age?
I'm going to the SG burlesque show tonight! Yay!
