Well I'm off to LA tonight for 10 days to work and to visit family & friends. I was so happy to leave LA, but I love going back to visit, there is so much there, other than family & friends (& bouganvillea & cheap avocados) that I really do miss.

Charles Bukowski said it best....smile

...L.A., the greatest city in the universe. Where each man and woman had a special style and a natural cool. Even the fools had a certain grace. L.A. was the end of a dead culture crawled west to get away from itself. L.A. knew it was rotten and laughed at it. Ask Chicago, ask New York City, they still think they are alive. No good. They are fucked cuckoo. While San Francisco chokes upon the glut of artists, L.A. wheels, stands at the corner of Hollywood and Western, munching a taco and enjoying the bluff and the sun....

I'm going to take a page out of ShellyMc's book and give some film recommendations. These are all movies I would rate a 5 out of 5, and they are all movies that I feel show all the bittersweet aspects of life, but are not depressing movies. I love each and every one of them.

1. Millions - directed by Danny Boyle who also did Trainspotting & 28 Days Later
2. Me & You & Everyone We Know
3. Dirty Pretty Things
4. The Station Agent

Now, if you'd be so kind, please recommend a movie to me, something obscure that I may not have seen, but that you adore.

And another question, where were you born, how old were you when you left, and do you miss it? If you don't miss it, what was your favorite thing about that place?

I will leave you with a picture of a dog I came across at the farmer's market last year. So freakin' cute!!!

Hope everyone has a truly excellent week!
