ahhh, the sun is shining, my window is open, I just made some really yummy black beans with mangos and homemade guacamole with chips, and I'm listening to the Lone Star soundtrack, life right at this exact moment is pretty freakin' good! Time to finally post a couple of pictures from...
Flew in Friday night and went to the Lucha Libre (Mexican wrestling). No cameras allowed so I was unable to take photos, but trust me it was spectacular!!! I thank TestyKitty and The Mexican for suggesting it, too bad they couldn't join us! I couldn't take pictures, but maybe you'll enjoy this photo of the luchador Atlantis and his struggle with a bunch of bananas.
On Saturday we went to Xochimilco on the outskirts of Mexico City. You can rent one of these "boats" for $15. US for an hour, regardless of the amount of people.
As you cruise through the canals, different boats will tie up alongside you to sell you beer, corn on the cob, plants, candy, rugs, etc., or you can hire a Mariachi band to play you a couple of songs like we did....
After Xochimilco we went to Coyoacan which means "place of the coyotes", I didn't see any coyotes, but this fellow was awfully cute!
Coyoacan is not only a charming town, but it's also the birthplace of Frida Kahlo and the house she was born in and lived on and off in with Diego Rivera till her death is now a museum. The house was just beautiful!! They don't have a lot of her artwork, but they do have a lot of her furnture and decorations, and some of her clothing. We had to rush through, but I was glad we made it.
Here is a picture of her gardens.
Then on Sunday morning I was struck with my first ever case of Montezuma's Revenge and the party was over!!!
This weekend I'm going to Montreal & Quebec City for a week! If anyone has any suggestions on things I absolutely should not miss out on, please let me know!
And if you've made it this far I have a question for you!
Do you speak a foreign language? Are you trying to learn one? If you could be suddenly fluent in another language, what would it be?

Hope this dose of radioactive fairydust from the toxic land of the undead was enough to keep you satisfied until the next mutation.
Glad you liked Quebec though!!
I look forward to the pics.
I am so totally into the 80's too. Of course, my salad days and all! The Talking Heads I still listen to, and the B-52's are great jivin in the car music. Glad to make you smile!
