Woo hoo! I'm going to Mexico City Friday morning for 4 days!! I'm so excited! I won't be very active on here till next week, so I thought I'd better update my journal before I go! Here are some pics from last weekend, as you can see it turned out to be a nice weekend here in sometimes sunny Seattle!
I don't know what it is with me and the color orange, but I am strangely attracted to foods and flowers and probably most anything that is orange in color! Case in point....
Poppies!!!
This is the Space Needle and the International Fountain, it's so great to just hang out here on a sunny day. The International fountain is where hordes of people gathered for a memorial after Kurt Cobain's death.
This is a troll in the area called Fremont (aka the center of the universe, according to the locals). There is also a rocket ship in Fremont and a statue of Lenin. The Volkswagon bug in his hand is real by the way.
I thought this was a good idea for a flower bed border! This was also in Fremont.
Okay, while I'm gone I'd like to know, what is your favorite type of food (like Mexican, Indian, Italian, etc.), and what is your favorite dish within that type of food? I'm going to go with Mexican and cheese enchiladas.
It would also be good to know if you have a "guilty pleasure" movie or song, that you know is bad, but you love it anyway.
You can only pick one Shelly!!!

thanks about the article. i really didn't expect anyone to read it since it's so long and about india-freakin-napolis. the funny thing is, i can read novels and i can read poems... i just don't have the patience to read articles. something about the odd length. i like nonfiction. i don't get it. but i don't like writing them either, so maybe that has something to do with it.
yes, avacado green. perhaps a tad bit bluer than true 70's avacado, but maybe it just aged that way. it's probably authentic, still works though.
normally i'd be jealous of your naan (though i've never had spinach-stuffed), but i was just at my India Garden the other night and still have leftovers in the fridge. yum. unfortunately i won't be able to make it to my own catering tasting for our Feast, but hopefully my boy will bring back boxes of crazy indian food! mmmm....
and it made me all giddy!
i did go to my tenth reunion..
i had a nice time, but i didn't find it amazingly entertaining...
still debating on going to my 20th.
I just cant believe that much time has actually passed.
How are you doing by the way?
