What I've done since I finished school:
Thursday:
Ate Sushi at East downtown with Alexia, Bjorn, Zombie John, and Chrisrobin (drank some sake called "Crazy Milk", yes, crazy milk. This obnoxious woman was socially clinging to the sushi chef for dear life trying to get him to correct her Japanese pronunciation. I wanted to give her a dildo.
Went to Corey's house in Echo Park for some spliffage and some B to the E. ( Have you ever seen that courtyard that has ART painted on it in big letters? That's corey's sculpture yard. Corey, everyone's favorite little animation/energy drink junkie/creative genius (Corey's Website, it will change your life I'm not joking) was very excited about B to the E ("It's so much more mellow thn Spark's, but its actually a lot stronger... I've found it fits very nicely into my daily drinking routine....") Of course Corey decided to blow us away by showing us this amazing animation by a bauhaus grad student based on the algorithms of microbe 3-D modeling.
Apparently a while back Yahoo! paid Corey over $35,000 for his share of a company he helped start, "www.flickr.com". He didn't even have to pay for the shares, his friend just gave him 20,000 of them because he thought the company was going under. So what does Corey do?
First, he pays this stockbroker who charges $1000/hr for consultation for one hour of advice. after a while of looking at graphs and sipping on shitty coffee (you would think it would be better) He tells the guy, listen, I have an idea. And so he invests the ENTIRE $35,000 in three companies he hates with a passion. (Microsoft, Altria, Sallie Mae). His logic is: If the companies do badly and he loses the money, he'll be happy anyway because these corporations he hates are doing badly. If they do well, he'll be sad, but at least he'll be making money. The stockbroker is flabbergasted and I love Corey.
Friday:
Beers and burgers at Barney's Beanery. Lot's of B's. It was a B week (including, probably, mygrades, but we won't think about that) Went with the infamous silver headed couple, Amandameron, my buddies from Texas. Cameron was my boss when I worked at Spencer's in high school and Amanda, incidentally, was his girlfriend at the time who was randomly assigned as my roommate freshmen year. She has white spiky hair and He has straight up silver hair. but its out of fashion, not geriatrics. Refer to the picture page in my photography folder (the tea party for pictures of this couple and ninja Bjorn.
MINDLESS SELF INDULGENCE that night, I have bruises. Continuation of the mindless self indulgence into my lifestyle: Nap until 3am and then more partying at Adam's. Summation: rock music, beer, burgers, movies, pot, friends, other recreational narcotics, cartoons = haven't had a friday night this sweet in a long time.
Yesterday: Lunch at Canter's with Happiness rockstar Gerard and his new fiance Bri (it's about time). Somehow the conversation shifts to having multiple births as a compromise to the insatiable urge to kill. And then 'shopping' on Melrose. More like, walk around on Melrose until your feet hurt and don't buy anything. atl east I got some exercise. I have to by what my mom considers a 'decent' outfit for graduation and I just have no idea what she means by that.
And then I accidentally slept since 8pm because my boyfriend sleeps more than a coma patient. (I guess I do, too these days). But I still automatically wake up at 4:30 am after 8.5 hours on the dot. Ugh.
