My father had two wives born on Oct 5th, yet somehow he never remembered my birthday.

Special Relativity even reveals to us, that time is not the least bit dependable. It's extremely plastic. It performs all manner of contortion in order to keep the speed of light a constant.
Some state the reason that time moves forward and never backwards is Entropy. All things change, all things age, everything is falling apart.
Entropy explains why a coffee cup can be shattered, but never can unshatter.
