when did getting online become such a chore? i guess having to connect the modem every time contributed to the whole experience getting old. plus i've had fuck all to do at work lately, so i've been on from there all the time, which makes getting online again at home that much less appealing. this ain't exactly the type o' place i can really visit from there, though. so, if my journal entries and comments suffer, please forgive.
being away from home all weekend every weekend has something to do with it, too. not that i'd trade, mind you.
i got the opportunity to do some freelance illustration work in the past couple weeks. getting paid to draw is still a little baffling to me, though this one was quite a bit of work, and i mortgaged a lot of sleep, so the $350 plus expenses seems fair...
best part of the whole thing, though, was that the job came from an old friend who i hadn't talked to in ages. so, doing this gave me a chance to catch up with him, and hopefully we can do a better job of staying in touch.
in other news, things are looking up at work. new title brings more money, but more importantly, different work. a cure for stagnation, that is.
the girl is having her good days and bad days (Crohn's disease), though more good than bad for the last week, which makes me
hope you're all doing well!

Bakerton group set- schmooze the hell out of First Ave, i knew way to many people there, so i made the rounds, my my tatoo artist and peicer, bunch of SG member who had never seen clutch, bunch of people who knew me but i did know them (i would like to say this being the first time i have seen the bakerton group, this should be the only way clutch should be aloud to tour, when the play here they alway got some of the lamest act opening, or band that don't even fit their style, and the place is usely pretty dead till Clutch hits the stage, but this time it was packed to the gill right off the bat)
first set- they just tore the place a new asshole, they knew they hadn't been here in a while so they came out swinging
second set- since they just tore us a new one, they sat us down on a hemroid doughnut with some straight up groove, and ruduced the place to a drunken swager, and laid it down thick. as the set was heading to a close they picked up the tempo again to close it out.
best show i've seen in a long time
