There seems to be a recurring theme in my life of cancelled plans. Whenever I make plans with someone -- doesn't matter who they are or what the plans are -- something invariably comes up which causes them to fall through. Naturally, this happens more the higher my hopes are. Car breakdowns, lack of funds, sudden emergencies, all these things come up at one time or another to wreck plans. Never anyone's fault, it just seems to be some kind of cosmic kick in the ass that's supposed to keep me from getting my hopes up about anything actually happening. It never works, though, and I always manage to get excited about a planned event -- and it always manages to fall through.
